Scott River Watershed Council Fisheries Field Technician:

 

Scott River Watershed Council (SRWC) is seeking applicants to provide field support for restoration projects and salmonid monitoring efforts near Etna, in Siskiyou County, California. Essential tasks include: Maintaining instream PIT (RFID) tag antenna monitoring stations; downloading, post processing, and analyzing data from the stations, including analysis of performance diagnostics as well as the PIT tag records themselves, so some familiarity with electronics is essential. Applicant will be working in a team with SRWC, NOAA, and USFWS scientists, landowners, and other stakeholders, so good communication skills, and the ability to take direction while maintaining individual initiative, is essential.  Report writing and excel capabilities necessary, surveying and GIS mapping skills desired, but not required.

Position has the potential to expand over time, and could include restoration project management.  Training opportunities available for the right individual.

Start Date: As soon as possible

Hours: 2-4 days week through Sept. Reduced hours through winter months. Schedule flexible

Salary: $18-25/hour commensurate with experience and range from.
