DWR Announces Grant Funding Recommendation

The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) announced Tuesday that it has recommended two grants in Siskiyou County totaling over $2 million to help in the development of state-mandated Groundwater Sustainability Plans (GSP).  For Scott, Shasta and Butte Valley groundwater basins $1.3 million is recommended for the Siskiyou County Flood Control and Water Conservation District serving as the Groundwater Sustainability Agency (GSA). Tulelake basin is being managed separately by the Tulelake Irrigation District.  The Shasta Valley RCD is set to receive over $900,000 to assist landowners and agencies in the Shasta Valley.
